Hi,

Apologies again if you've just received this via Meetup.

We've chatted previously about using thin client boxes as fanless headless servers. I have a few that my work are getting rid of. They are:

  • HP t5500 733MHz 128MB RAM  (two of these)
  • HP t5510 800MHz 128MB RAM  (two of these)
  • HP t5520 800MHz 128MB RAM
  • HP t5710 1.2GHz 256MB RAM
  • HP t5720 AMD NX1500 256MB RAM

I have a t5700 1GHz 256MB RAM that I run at home as a webserver, small database server, mail processor, and mpd server. It runs Debian using a laptop hard drive connected (and powered) via USB.

I haven't tested them all yet but the t5500 boots from USB and I have no reason to suspect the others won't too.

In case you think the RAM is ridiculous, Debian's minimum requirement is 64MB with 256 recommended.

As our bank balance is running very low, I am asking $40 each for these ($10 to my work, $30 to HLUG). Full refund if the hardware is faulty. I'll bring them along on Thursday.

Richard
