Maybe it's super obvious and I'm missing something or I'm just becoming more obsessed with organization than everyone else but I'm trying to figure out how to remove previously saved splice samples from my library and I can't find a single forum about it.
Over time I've accumulated a lot of samples and I only use a small portion. There's plenty that I don't think I'll ever use and I'd like to trim the fat a bit by deleting sounds from my library (not repacks), but haven't been able to do so. I know I can just delete them from my computer but I also like to have my library fully synced.
The whole point of this is really just being more efficient. The less crap that I have the faster I can get to the sounds that I want and I'd like to really work on curating my library. But everytime I sync with splice it's going to give me every sound that I've ever saved. Does anyone know if this is possible to clean up your splice library?
I'm doing an ambient noise soundscape thing. Hopefully this will still fit here, as it does have some music, but this question is not a music one. I need to grab some animal samples for somebody, and would like it to be decent quality stuff if possible. I know splice would probably have some stuff, but I'd rather not start a subscription for a one time project. Any other places I can go grab samples from that would be good quality?
My case: I am a 3-year Splice sounds subscriber, by accident. I bought Serum on rent-to-own however long ago and never realized I was ALSO being charged as a "Sounds" subscriber. I asked for an exchange of all credits on my account, for RC-20 (3,400+ credits/100 credits a month at $10 a month for 34 months, comes out to $340 in exchange for a plugin that retails for $95.99) Splice support is merciless to this cause, and refuses to come to any agreement; blindly sticking to their TOS.
As few know the sync all sounds button has been removed from the splice app. I can only imagine they removed this button to force less than knowledgeable users to stay subscribed their platform longer. Without having all their sounds downloaded they'd be forced to only be able to use either the splice app or VST to search for samples they don't have downloaded. Long term users know that libraries can become massive; I've used splice lightly and had amassed about a 5300 sample library, and with the current app update the only way to download them would be to do it one by one. Normally a user would be able to sync their sample library and use what ever sample organization method they desired, but as I mentioned with this update that's pretty much impossible now. I guess what I'm trying to say is this move is Predatory as fuck on Splice's part. Especially for people like me who migrate to different computers yearly, break their OS constantly, and is always swapping HDD around for different projects.
My Splice sounds are showing up in my user library folder, but some packs are listed in the other category... I'm not sure why this is happening, I want all of them to be in the same user library folder.
Hi reddit. I am trying to copy entire splice sample packs to an sd card so I can use the sounds with my mpc. Is there an easy way to move entire packs as folders? I can only seem to drag one sound at a time. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
You pay each month to get acces to the splice sounds platform and to get x amount of credits each month. Well I used splice sounds for almost two years so I spend probably a good 200$ on samples before I ultimately cancelled my subscription.
Hi when I trying to play sounds on the splice windows app no audio is coming out. I'm using Behringer U-PHORIA UMC404HD soundcard and its working fine in Ableton live 10, Reaper, etc.. it's only splice that wont use my audio card. But if plug headphones directly to the back of the PC splice works fine with the internal audio card.
UPDATE: I must clarify by saying that the kick has lost it's quality immediately after being downloaded. This is before it goes into my DAW. So it is not a DAW issue. On the splice web page the kicks all sound powerful, but once they are downloaded into the splice app, they lost all of this power.
In this file, the first kick you hear is my screen recording of me playing a kick from splice on their website. The second kick is that same sample but once I have downloaded it and put it in my project. The second kick seems to start part way through. As if they cut the beginning part of the sample off. Whatever they do, the samples don't sound as good downloaded as they do on the spice website.
The second way to go about finding sounds is to hunt as you go using the desktop app whilst producing. This method is perhaps the best way to be more purposeful with your credit buying power.
The Details
In order to download sounds, you have to install a small application, and this is the same one that is used for syncing DAW project data, though the two tasks are separate things. A folder is created on your computer where downloaded files are stored, and you can audition and search them here, as well as revealing them in the file system. Files can be dragged from the Splice app straight into your DAW.
