Looks pretty doesn't it? Pretty deceiving.... PLEASE, DON'T USE THESE STAMPS! NOT FOR ANY MAIL!!   USPS 44-Cent Stamp Celebrates Muslim holidays Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha . If there is only ONE thing you forward today... let it be this! REMEMBER to adamantly & vocally BOYCOTT this stamp, when you are purchasing your stamps at the post office. All you have to say is "No thank you, I do not want that Muslim Stamp on my letters!" To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors. REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of Pan Am Flight 103! REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993! REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Marine Barracks in Lebanon ! REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Military Barracks in Saudi Arabia ! Ruth and to whomever else may read this,

 

A few years ago, I may have ignorantly forwarded this on, having known 0 Muslims.  But since moving to San Diego and encountering several Muslims, I have found those that I have met to be some of the friendliest people I have ever had the pleasure of calling my friends.  I have gotten several similar e-mails about boycotting anything to do with Muslims.  It was very discouraging to me to read so much junk when my Muslim friends were such good people.  I was really torn with how to think and feel.  My husband reminded me that BYU has Muslim students coming from Muslim nations because Muslims have a great respect for the morals of the LDS church.  He also said that Muslims do not have a prophet on the earth or a central leader as does the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Therefore Muslims have many different interpretations of the Koran.  So yes, there are some very radical Muslim groups that have done such great destruction to thousands of people, but it is not fair in any way to put that label onto every Muslim. 

 

For me the bottom line is that I took it to the Lord (because of getting so many anti-Muslim e-mails) and He answered me by helping me feel the amazing love that He has for Muslims...as He loves ALL of His children.  They may not have found the truth yet that Jesus is the Christ, but they certainly won't feel the love that He has for them if we are so cruel and discriminatory in our actions.  It has been such an amazing experience for me to hear my Muslim friend tell me how thankful she is that when she goes to our Church activities she is treated with warmth and kindness by members of my church.  She has said that many Christian churches are so unkind to them, simply because they are Muslim.  Being Mormon and growing up in an Anti-Mormon area, I can definitely relate to how she feels.

Thanks Kathy.  I agree 100%.  Lumping all Muslims together as Terrorists is just like saying all Christians are members of the IRA.  Not even close to the truth is it?  If you know anything about Islam you would realize that what al-Quada, the Taliban, etc are doing is very much against the teachings of Islam.  They have twisted and perverted the religion to meet there own needs.

Hi Chuck, I am glad you said this. I work with many nurses and doctors who are Muslim and are good people. The thing about this stamp thing is that if Ruth had actually read all that Snopes had to say about this, she would see that what she was forwarding was very misleading.

Thank you for speaking out on this Kathy. I work with doctors and nurses who are Muslims and are wonderful people. Also, when I went to Snopes myself to check this out, the e-mail is very misleading and gives only a small part of the facts regarding the Islam stamps. I think if Ruth had actually gone to Snopes to read it all, she would not have sent this.

How are you all doing? Hope you are healthy and well. How is your new baby?
