All,
HAL will have its September public star party at Alpha Ridge Park tonight. This event is free and open to all. The star party will officially start at sunset, which will be at around 7:10 pm  and continue till 11:00pm. This star party will coincide with International Observe the Moon Night, which HAL is officially registered for.

Tonight the moon will be in a Waxing Gibbous phase with roughly 55% of the surface illuminated. Venus will be shining at the west horizon before setting around 8:30. Meanwhile, Saturn will arise from the east horizon around 7:50. International space station will be visibly passing the region at 8:44 about 10 degrees above the north horizon.

Right now the weather forecast predicts a reasonable viewing condition before 9 pm, though the cloud will gradually build up after that.

We look forward to seeing you there!
Clear skies
Richard
