Despite the uncertain weather forecast, about 12 members showed up last night.

The patchy thin cloud after sunset allowed us to watch Jupitor and Venus (the mercury is behind a wall of horizontal cloud). I could see Arcturus and Vega as well. However, Polaris was only visible through telescopic view. The condition continuously deteriorated till the sky was 90% clouded out by 10 pm.

We started to wrap up around 10:30 pm. Wayne kindly offered to lock the gate.

Clear skies,
Richard

We were also able to image the beautiful and elusive “Moth Nabula”.
Here is one sub frame and you can also see the “Wayne’s Hand” nabula as well!

Richard!

Thank you for keeping Alpha Ridge open so late despite the lackluster skies.

The evening wasn't a total bust.  Meeting new people always is worth the effort.  I was also able to image Mercury and Venus before sunset and get a decent image of The Ring through the clouds.
