In case you missed this, the Kalamazoo Astronomical Society is offering another Introduction to Amateur Astronomy lecture series. See the attachment below.
As an astronomy super-novice and big dark-sky advocate this free lecture series comes highly recommended for anyone. I already signed up to take it again.
You will need to register, instructions are provided on their website. There is so much information and many helpful resources provided during the series.
You also get a certificate with bragging rights if you complete all five lectures, just 2-hours on a Saturday afternoon for 5 weeks starting in January.
