HAL August Members Meeting - Thursday August 13th

Greetings HAL members and friends,

 

I hope you’re all enjoying summer and finding a few clear nights to get outside under the stars. We have an excellent August meeting lined up this week, and I’m looking forward to seeing many of you there.

 

The meeting will be held this Thursday, August 13th from 7–9 p.m. at the Robinson Nature Center. As always, you may also join virtually via Zoom using the link below.

This month we welcome back Ernie Wright, who generated tremendous interest earlier this year with his pre‑Artemis II overview. His August talk, “Working the Mission: An Inside Look at NASA’s Artemis Science Team,” will take us behind the scenes into Mission Control. Ernie will share what it was like serving on the science team during the mission, how the team collaborates with flight controllers, and how astronaut and ground‑crew training prepares everyone involved for mission success.

 

Along with Ernie’s presentation, we’ll have our regular segments:

• What’s Up in Space
• Shallow Skies
• Member Astrophotos
