New member seeking help

Hello! I am Eric Hamill. I am new to the group and to HAL. 

It has been a long time since i looked to the sky with a telescope -  like 1970s or so. Back then the telescope was not mine and i wasn't allowed to touch it. I remember it being far more manual than it is now - or so i am told.

My wife recently bought me a Celestron 1141 CM and i find that i am not sure about all the settings, gizmos and things i find attached or connected to it.

Before i venture out into the night for one of HAL's star parties, i wonder if i might talk to someone about setting this wonderful gadget up properly?
