Hi all,
I will be hosting the Members-Only Star Party at Alpha Ridge Park on Saturday, March 14th. It will start at sunset (7:13 PM) and last until 11:00 PM, or possibly later if conditions permit and things are going well.
The NWS forecast shows partly cloudy skies in the evening, becoming overcast later at night, with a daytime high of 55 and an overnight low of 39. The Astrospheric extended forecast shows clear skies, so hopefully that forecast will be the accurate one. I'll
send out additional reminders with updated weather forecasts later this week.
Moonlight will not be an issue, as it's doesn't rise until 5:38 AM. The skies will be fully dark at the end of astronomical twilight at 8:43 PM.
Fingers crossed that the weather will be better than the current NWS forecast and that many HAL members will gather for a pleasant night of observing and astronomical socializing.
Hope to see you all out there at Alpha Ridge on Saturday night!
Ernie
