I have looked at
every posted eclipse photo and a number of photos that were sent to me directly or posted on Facebook and/or Flickr. Fantastic work, HAL members!
Leona and I put considerable effort into getting the Questar and camera ready, but the clouds were rather thick here in Gambrils. We had some brief clear moments near the maximum phase, but we didn't get any photos. A camera setting was wrong and my failing eyesight (AMD and drusen) made it impossible for me to see the camera menu In the glaring sun, and the photos just didn't turn out. This was entirely my fault for failing to thoroughly check the camera settings before going outside. I want to emphasize that I couldn't even have tried this without Leona's help. She is, by now, largely responsible for aiding me in about 90% of the photos that I make.
Anyway, no big thing. What I want to reemphasize is that HAL members did truly great work on this eclipse. I imagine there were some chewed-up fingernails as you all waited for the clouds to open up. Congratulations to all!
