Mentoring star party report.

Dear HAL Members,
I wanted to share a quick recap of last night’s Mentoring Star party.
We had a great turnout, with 18 people showing up bringing a variety of equipment, including different telescopes, spotting scopes, and binoculars. Wes and I were glad to assist everyone in learning how to use their equipment.
The night brought some light clouds, but we had enough clear patches to point at well-known bright stars like Arcturus and Vega to successfully perform two-star polar alignments. Most of the equipment brought out was strictly visual, ranging from binoculars all the way up to a 16-inch Dobsonian.
We wrapped up the evening and closed the park at 11:30 PM with no incidents to report.
We are looking forward to host another mentoring star party in the near future.
