Hello fellow Astronomers,

What is your recent source of Baltic Birch?

I've been looking for 3/4 in and 1/2 in Baltic birch. I've called lots of places in the vast majority didn't have it. The one that did was A&M Supply corporation but they wouldn't sell to me because I'm not a contractor.

Let me know if you have a very recent experience where they had Baltic Birch in stock.   I'm looking in Southern Howard county and Northern Montgomery county.

Also, if you have some that you'd be willing to sell, I'd be happy to buy it.

I need a little more than half a sheet of 3/4 in and a little less than half a sheet of 1/2 in.

Thanks in advance!

Nathan

PS:  I have a big surplus of .75" 1/6 wall aluminum 6063 tube and a much smaller surplus of 1.25".  If you need some for a small build let me know and I'm happy to give it to you for free.

I know Woodcraft in Rockville has it, though IIRC, it’s not in full 4x8’ sheets, and it’s also really expensive. Also not sure they have 3/4”, they might only go up to 5/8. But they are very helpful if you call them, they’re great folks and might be able to order anything they don’t have in stock.

Frederick Lumber Company, 295 Bucheimer Road, Suite C, Frederick MD 21701

Frederick Lumber has an online pricelist (PDF) that shows Baltic Birch plywood in multiple thicknesses and sheet sizes.

A couple of years ago I remodeled our kitchen and used Baltic birch for 13 new drawers. I got it at Frederick Lumber and they had it in both 4x8 and 5x5 sheets. It is expensive, but I also bought 250 linear feet of 1 x 3 maple at less than half the price of Home Depot.  They also carry a bunch of exotics for smaller projects, well worth the visit. Give then a call:  (301) 695-1271
