The idea is that at our public star parties, we encourage visitors to look through every telescope that’s set up (or view the image being taken if it’s an astrophotography rig) and not be shy about doing so — that’s what we’re there for. However, our members-only events are intended for members to pursue their own astronomy projects without interruption. So, as long as your guests are quietly observing with you, we won’t mind.
We don’t have a special event planned for February, but if there’s a clear night and not too much snow on the ground, I’m sure we’ll have an impromptu observing event.
