Hi all,

You've all had a few months off and now it's time to discuss and
determine if we want to the club to continue.

If we do, I'm looking for one adult to take over main coordination of
the club, which is mostly taking care of the meeting scheduling. This
involves coordinating the meeting time with the library three months
in advance of the meeting, sending out a meeting announcement a week
or so in advance, and identifying who will be leading each meeting.

In order to support the lead person, each member (parent/child) team
needs to take responsibility for planning and executing a meeting, so
I need to know that you are willing to do that and need volunteers for
the first three months. (October, November, December).

I will also be updating the email list based on the responses to this
email, so if you don't respond you will be removed.

So, let's hear your thoughts on the future of the club!

Thanks,
Terri

I had one response with concerns that the member really isn't ready to
lead a meeting.

Leading a meeting is as simple as defining a fun thing to do with the
robot that would likely take no more than two hours to complete and
prepare a description of that activity to be sent out with the meeting
announcement. If you need some other objects to complete the activity,
like bottles or obstacles, then you have to prepare those as well. No
teaching or guaranteed solutions are required. So I think everyone is
ready to pose a meeting activity, and I have some pointers if you need
ideas.

The most important thing that will keep the club going is that
everyone makes an honest attempt to attend and participate in the
meeting activity.

I would like to ask the club in general if there is any interest in
Robotics outside of LEGO NXT?

If so, I would be happy to lead/coordinate several meetings. Please
reply to this thread.

Thanks
