How to Protect Android Phone from Hacker Attacks

Android phones are a favorite of many people. No wonder cyber criminals or hackers are diligently targeting these devices for various purposes, from stealing important data, breaking into credit cards or spying activities.
Well, to protect Android phones from hacker attacks, Jake Moore as a Security Specialist at Eset shares 4 simple tips. Here's the list, quoted by detikINET from Mirror:

1. Diligently Update
First, make sure the smartphone is updated with the latest operating system updates. "First, make sure your phone is up to date with the latest operating system firmware updates which will keep your phone protected from the latest threats," said Moore.
So don't be lazy, just update if your Android phone provides the latest software update. Usually updates will be notified automatically. But there's nothing wrong with checking the settings once in a while to see if there are any new updates.

2. Download Password Manager
Downloading the Password Manager application will really help control the passwords that we use in many services. The password manager can suggest strong passwords and monitor whether you are using the same password on other websites. In addition, it can also monitor all the gadgets that we use and the browser.
"Download Password Manager to protect all your passwords and then turn on two-factor authentication on all accounts that offer it, which should be present in most apps and will keep them safe from hackers even if the password is obtained," Moore said.

3. Download the Anti-Virus Application
Today, many well-known anti-virus vendors make mobile applications to secure Android phones. Just choose from a reputable company to protect your smartphone, such as Norton, Bitdefender or Kaspersky.
There's nothing wrong with reading a review of which anti-virus is the most powerful. "It's important to download an antivirus application to keep your phone safe from viruses as well as from malware," said Moore

4. Create a Strong Password
Creating strong passwords in any app or service is absolutely necessary. Don't just choose a password that is easy to remember or is closely related to ourselves. Hackers will easily guess.
"Don't forget to have a good password on your Android phone that doesn't include anything related to yourself, such as birthdays or certain celebrations," concluded Moore.
