It is great that you want to learn how to make this
stuff for yourself. It is much cheaper and you know
what is in it.
I am still surprised that most people have not heard
of colloids. Maybe one day it will be common
knowledge.
Now let me tell you a little about the way I make
colloidal gold. There are two different set-ups that
I use. Both use an underwater arc using high voltage.
The arc creates a plasma ball and vaporizes the gold.
This is the only way I would recommend making the
colloidal gold. One setup is relatively safe. You
need to get a neon sign transformer. You can buy them
on ebay but the best place to get them is a neon sign
repair shop. Tell them it is for some high voltage
experiments. They will usually just give you a used
one. It needs to be 12,000 to 15,000 VAC and 30 to
60ma. These are relatively safe to work with. It can
shock you but it mostly just tingles. The amperage is
too low to be a real danger.
You need some 22 gauge gold wire. I order mine online
from CCSIlver.com. Ten inches is about $25. You also
need some glass eyedroppers. $2 at wal-mart.
You will need something to use as a stand. I use 1/2"
pvc pipe, but anything will do.
It takes a few hours to make 32 ounces this way. You
have to stay with it and watch it very close.
I know another way to make CG using a microwave
transformer and a variac. It makes a much stronger CG
in less time, but the microwave transformer is very
dangerous to use. It can kill you very easily if you
get shocked. It uses much higher amperage.
If you want to use an automatic setup I know of a
company that sells one for around $400 I think. It is
totally automatic. A very good machine if you can
afford it. It makes it alot easier for a beginner.
Colloidal silver is made a totally different way. I
use a 9vdc wall transformer, 2 canadian silver maple
coins(1 ounce each) and an aquarium air pump. It is a
very easy and safe setup.
I will explain more later if you are still interested.
I could send you pics if you would like.
