Dear Scholars,

As I mentioned in class, we don't have class this Wednesday. You are
welcome to attend the other section at 6:30pm on Thursday in Wean 5304
to learn about courting recommenders. Homework is still due!

Why no class? I'm going to have the fun of running a panel at the
Grace Hopper Celebration fo Women in Computing in Portland, OR next
week. (If you want to know more about my panel, look at "Session 4"
http://gracehopper.org/2011/conference/schedule-at-a-glance/thursday-november-10-2011/
). I'll bring back tchotchkes!

Also, I just finished writing my syllabus for next semester's "How to
Get a Job." I would love to incorporate any feedback you have about
the course. This is *totally optional*. We'll have a JV and a Varsity
section, where the Varsity section is for those who are seriously
stressing out about getting a job and want to turn in 42 applications
over the semester for review, and JV is for those who are stressing
out less. I value all of your opinions and am excited to be teaching
it again. I hope you are all well,

Jessica
