Dear Scholars,
Just a quick update on what you need to turn in by class this Wednesday, or at the latest, 12:01am December 10th. I've modified the requirements from the syllabus, so I'll grade you based on the following, not what it says there.
1) 15 complete job applications. Currently, 3 of your have 15 or more, and the rest do not. Get them in quick. Here's some jobs for which you could apply quickly: Marketing and Designers, Software Engineering, Public Policy (for Mandarin-speakers), Public Policy (for Korean-Speakers), entry-level Finance in New York.
2) A LinkedIn Account. Currently, all of you have one. Great.
3) A photo of you in your interview outfit. Currently, no one has this uploaded. Do it quick! This can be a Facebook photo that you link to, something you take at home, whatever.
4) 5 Year Plan. Currently, all but one of you has one of these uploaded.
5) Attendance to 10 out of our 15 classes (i.e., 5 excused absences or fewer). All of you are doing fine on this count.
That's it. As usual, I will have all of your turned-in applications with edits during class. I'll edit all of the applications you turn in this week, and by the 10th, and have them for you at the Career Center front desk.
Just to be clear: If you don't have 15 applications, or don't have a photo, or don't have a 5 year plan, I will give you a failing grade for this class.
On the nicer side, everyone who passes this class will get invited to a LinkedIn group, and everyone who comes to class tomorrow will be party to a surprise.
Have a calm final week of classes everyone,
Jessica Dickinson Goodman
