Itried using my Wyze Cam v2 to be a webcam, and did not worked. So gave up on that idea, and attempted to revert it back to being the original Wyze cam. I followed the instructions to the T, and all I get is a flashing blue light. I also tried resetting it to Factory Settings, and same flashing blue light. I left it plugged in for an hour, nothing has changed. Did I just bricked the cam? Please help.

I just ran into the same issue. I tried using an older firmware version (4.9.4.28) and it successfully has reset to factory settings. Try using an older firmware, and following the instructions again and let us know how it goes!

I am having the same issue as others have reported here. The V2 camera is just blinking blue ever since one of the firmware upgrades went bad a few months back. Now I am trying down download the version that someone reported as having worked for them (4.9.4.28) however, there is not an associated link when attempting to select that version. Not like many of the other versions have. This is what I see:

I'm having problems with the webcam utility. I used it last week to stream on Twitch with no issues, but today the webcam utility isn't detecting my camera at all. The USB icon with a red X that usually appears when a camera is not connected is notably missing.

So I tried opening EOS Webcam Utility Pro to see if I had to adjust a setting within the program, and it just won't open. Attempting to open it creates multiple processes but it never manages to opens a window.

The last thing I tried was uninstalling and reinstalling all Canon software on my pc, including drivers, but it still isn't working. I'm frustrated and out of ideas at this point. Any help would be appreciated!

Try installing regular EOS Utility, and then testing functionality with your camera, ports, and cables. Windows should download a device driver the first time you connect a camera to a good USB port and cable.

What is the problem?

I have been using the camera to monitor prints and record timelapses (Octolapse) when all of a sudden when I boot up and it no longer shows up on the camera page on octoprint. lsusb shows the camera connected.

What did you already try to solve it?

SSH in to the pi and run lsusb for it to show the camera connected. I have switched USB Ports numerous times making sure to turn the whole system off and on everytime.

Logs (/var/log/webcamd.log, syslog, dmesg, ... no logs, no support)

I have tried obtaining the webcam log file but can't find a straight answer on how to obtain it. I know it involves ssh into the pi and commands but I have know idea what commands to do. This is what came out of the lsusb and also the octoprint.log file is linked if it helps:

Yeah I had a suspicion that the printer may have been drawing tons of power but I lack a lot of knowledge in reading logs and stuff I am sure if I tried I'd understand it. Thanks for the response though I'll definitley give that a go.

I tried what you said with the piece of tape and it did not sole the camera issue, I should also note that I am using the official Raspberry Pi power supply so that shouldnt be the issue (I have used numerous different power supplies/chords and found this is the best). Here is the updated octoprint.log file: octoprint (1).log (1008.7 KB)

Finally I figured out the issue! I changed my cable connecting my camera to the pi and would you look at that, fixed! Thanks for the reply though. Note to people having the same issue try switching cables for everything (pi to printer, pi to camera).

EDIT: When I thought all was good it stopped working, AGAIN. It now briefly shows the camera when booting up then makes you reload the page and the camera feed no longer works. I tried it with printer not plugged in and that made no difference.

Also when I try accessing /var/log/webcamd.log via ssh it gives me this /var/log/webcamd.log: No such file or directory if someone could help me solve this it would be great as the log could hold the answers.

I am wondering if I can use my Eos Rebel T1i as a PC webcam. I know canons driver will not work but I am wondering if there are any free ones I could use that are not really sketchy to download. Thanks!

I also want to point out that there are a few cameras that are not listed as being supported by the EOS Webcam Utility, but many users have been reporting that it seems to work with the camera bodies.

All of these compatible outliers seem to have one or two things in common. The camera is able to controlled by the regular EOS Utility in Remote Shooting Mode, and the cameras are capable of capturing video. Any camera that cannot capture video AND be remotely controlled does not seem able to work with the EOS Webcam Utility.

hey, where did you find those drivers? I found a version 1.1.5 for the T5i but when I tried to install into my T1i it keeps giving an error message saying it isn't the appropriate updater. Did you do it directly with the SD card?

Hi there. Do you have a mac or windows. I'm attempting to try the same (T5i webcam utility driver software installed on a Macbook to use a T1i camera as webcam) on a macbook. I have usbC ports, but will use a convertor from USB to USBC.

Thank you. Once I read this part properly "You'll see the volume name...." and stopped trying to guess what my Volume was called, the rest was easy. I did encounter an issue that the New Teams would only display the logo for the EOS webcam app and not my actual camera. However, I switched back to Teams Classic and it works great. Thank you for taking the time to post!!!

Indeed this would be possible.

In your InstallationNodeContribution, you should get the actual snapshot from the camera (as a still image), and them show this image in the UI.

You can in openView() or a sub-call there of, if the image should not be shown in all parts of the installation node, start a Timer, that periodically retrieves the latest image, and updated this to the View.

Then you should remember to nicely stop the Timer again, when the closeView() call comes.

I think that you can try and look at the example that we have provided through SDK in the example called mydaemon.

This example makes it possible to update the UI dynamically after some time ( defined by Timer) :

I recently updated my OS to MacOS Ventural 13.5.1. The EOS Webcam Utility worked fine for many years. After it got stuck at "EOS WEBCAM UTILITY" screen I uninstalled it and installed the EOS Webcam Utility Pro. After multiple restarts, it's still not getting the camera feed. The camera (T6i) shows the laptop icon, but nothing after. It's also not showing the red "x" error screen, which the software used to show after a certain timeout (I suppose).

The webcam has been correctly assigned an ID of 0 because there's only 1 camera. However, mNumberOfCameras is presumably still 0. This means that the camera is being registered by the emulator, but it hasn't bothered to update the number of connected cameras.

Edit 2: This seems to be a bug in the emulator. The suggested answer tells you what to do to set up the camera, but doesn't solve the problem for me. I ultimately solved it by using a laptop with a built-in webcam. Perhaps another USB webcam might have worked as well.

If the Android Camera is still not working after launching it with elevated permissions via the Terminal, in System Settings.app, navigate to Privacy & Security -> Camera and ensure the Camera Permission for Terminal is enabled

Get a rare view of the Farallon Islands' craggy peaks and rocky shorelines and scan the islands for marine mammals and birds. Our high-definition webcam is newly restored and now streaming live from a lighthouse atop Southeast Farallon Island.

The islands of the Farallon Islands National Wildlife Refuge are managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and are located nearly 30 miles off the coast of San Francisco. The Farallones host globally significant wildlife populations, including hundreds of thousands of seabirds and thousands of seals and sea lions. They are also a place of science where biologists from Point Blue Conservation Science study this complex ecosystem every day of the year, looking at the data to find ways to guide conservation and restoration of the islands in the face of climate change and other threats.

Because of the important and sensitive seabird and mammal populations that use the Farallones as breeding grounds, the islands are not open to the public. They are accessed only by a small number of wildlife biologists and resource managers. Point Blue Conservation Science has been doing science and training the next generation of scientists on the islands since 1968 in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
