The System of self organized Urban Plan.
In respect to flexibility, mixed, dynamic and vibrant living in the context of
Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
As in 3rd semester M.arch, Our group was making research on the city plan of Amsterdam
through the development of time. We overview the city of Amsterdam throughout history
from early 12th century till recent development. And also our small grouped did researched on
the other parts of Amsterdam mostly waterfront such as IJBURG, IJPLEIN, JAVA & KNSM etc.
most of the them were recently developed and being popularly known as the Dutch
Architecture. Bases on these research areas we examine few conclusions such as Amsterdam
is mixed living city as more than 40 % of inhabitants of the city are foreigners or from the
other part of country. Basis on statics we have produced a urban plan which is dealt with
people itself in constructing and rising the idea of self involvement.
The selected quarter in urban plan is to explain the flexibility of urban fabric in some kind of
functions such as Public building to commercial building and to private index. The selected
site is also considered that it will be first development of area where initial and temporal
functions will be taken place at earlier stages of development.
That location is also currently use by very informal activities such as beach bar, scatting by
youngsters, BarBQ by students and pet owners with their pets. Keeping this all functions alive
and bring up new functions to this area will definitely increase the popularity of project and it
will come up with new several ideas , by generally expending the zone, from temporal
function to fixed or flexible functions site face several years of up and down. In that sense we
are also considering the economical value, social disasters, recessions or other forces, so
keeping the idea that this site will be always be use and function to current period of time.
The final come up design for public space is a pattern that lay down on plane surface sloping
to water to give access to water and rising from the other side, and these pattern can be use
for many purposes as a public space.
Commercial building also become the part of public space and connected to from roof to
bottom with public activities so there is always a possibility to approach roofs .
the idea and houses are design in a flexible way that they can be re adjust and re-orientate as
per mood. And this mood is not only individuals mood it is more like group of people are
involving in such a scenario.
