Seed Collecting Cancelled (12/28) & Rescheduled to 12/29/24, 1 -4 pm, Sunday at Deer Park Prairie

Today's seed collecting trip to Deer Park Prairie is CANCELLED due to inclement weather and RESCHEDULED to Sunday, 12/29/24, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  Essentially no rain is predicted for Sunday and a dry morning will allow the seeds to dry also. I am hoping that the Symphyotrichum pratense which were in bloom the last time we were there will not drop most of its seeds in today's storm.

Seed collecting is a leisurely way to enjoy the prairie and learn about prairie grasses. Enjoy some outdoor fun while gathering seeds ripe for collecting. We work to support numerous organizations in the region. Make an impact and visit prairies often not open to the public. Dear Lan, If you would like to get away from the holiday hustle and bustle, come and enjoy a few hours in nature by seed collecting with us on Friday, December 20 at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center (HANC) plus two others listed below. Some supplies are available if needed. Please wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and long-sleeved shirt.
