Tomorrow 3/10/17 at MD Anderson:
We will be re-planting the area that was covered with tarp for MD Anderson's 75th anniversary late last year. Plants rescued will be returned and other plants will be added. Also, we will do regular maintenance and weeding on the prairie that was spared.
3/17-18/2017 Prairie Booth at Mercer Arboretum's March Mart We need volunteers to work the prairie booth at Mercer's March Mart next Friday and Saturday. Event open to public 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Half day shifts - OK. The display board, handouts, sign up sheets are ready to go and working the booth is very easy. Please reply, if you are interested. Last week's events: March, 2017, UP Team activities:
- Friday & Saturday, March 17 and 18, Volunteer for the Prairie Booth at March Mart at Mercer, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Sunday, March 19, Training opportunity. Join the Native Plant Society of Texas - Houston to Willow Waterhole, a prairie remnant in SW Houston that has a population of the endangered prairie dawn plant.
- Saturday, March 25: Deer Park Prairie Workday in Deer Park, TX 9:00 a.m. - noon
- Training at Mandell Park (Corner of Richmond & Mandell 77006). Don Verser wrote: "...if someone wants to see the prairie garden, get plants identified and learn about the management protocol and ecological gardening, I would be happy to be there to interpret and answer questions."
