We at the Coastal Prairie Conservancy invite you to join us for special programs throughout April:

Spring Wildflower Walk (free)

  • Monday, April 14 | 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Indiangrass Preserve
  • Join a guided walk along the Ann Hamilton Trail to learn how to identify native wildflowers and grasses.

Bagels & Bleats: Goat Grazing Workshop (fee)

  • Thursday, April 16 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Williams Prairie
  • Hear from CPC staff and goat herder Will Kearney about how targeted grazing by goats supports prairie health and then walk the trail to observe the goats at work.

Beginner-Friendly Guided Bird Walk (free)

  • Friday, April 17 | 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM | Indiangrass Preserve
  • Enjoy a relaxed, beginner-friendly birding experience with a guided walk through prairie habitat. Bring binoculars if you have them – CPC has a few available to borrow.

Foraging Workshop on the Katy Prairie (fee)

  • Sunday, April 19 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Indiangrass Preserve
  • Learn to identify and use edible and medicinal plants with a hands-on workshop led by Dr. Mark “Merriwether” Vorderbruggen.

Together, these events reflect an essential part of our work. Conservation is not only about protecting land, but about creating opportunities for people to experience it, learn from it, and help care for it. We hope you will join us on the prairie this April.
