---HOUSTON MUSIC ROUNDTABLE---
http://www.musicroundtable.com
==============================

Tonight: Jennifer Grassman talks about plans for *Houston Fair*, a
compilation CD of independent artists. Jennifer will explain what she
intends to accomplish with the project, and she'll be taking
submissions as well.

The CD will be distributed at coffee houses, music stores, etc. If
you'd like to submit, bring a CD, lyrics, track list, and a band bio.
The requirements? You must be independent, based in the Houston area,
and actively marketing, publicizing, and promoting your music.
Professional recording/production quality is a must, and no songs with
inappropriate content allowed.

If you can't make it to The Volcano tonight, email
jenn...@jennifergrassman.com for more info.

Upcoming events:

----------------
Tuesday June 7
First Tuesday @ The Volcano

The big monthly gathering at the Volcano. Come network with other folks
in the Houston Music scene! Bring a friend!

----------------
Two additional events in the great northwest (of houston) this month:

----------------
Saturday June 18
Roundtable Supports @ Sidecar Pub
11202 Huffmeister
w/ The Buddhacrush and The Googe

This month's "Roundtable Supports" night will be at the Sidecar pub on
June 18th. The Sidecar pub (http://www.sidecarpub.com/) is quite a
drive for those of us who spend all our time inside the loop. But it's
always been a well known music venue in town, with both local and
national acts performing several nights a week. I don't know about you,
but I played my very first gig in Houston there, years ago.

The Buddhacrush (http://www.buddhacrush.com) and The Googe
(http://www.thegooge.com/) are both roundtable regulars; if you've ever
been to a gathering, you've probably met Tim, Mary, Danny, Ian, Denise
and/or Brian. The lovely and talented Mary Lee (roundtable regular and
manager of the Buddhacrush) will be the host for the evening (as I am
touring that weekend, sadly). Go out and support 2 great Houston bands!

----------------
Monday June 27
Roundtable Excursion @ Wired Java & Internet Cafe
9740 Barker Cypress Rd.
Hosted by Al & Courtney Delaney and Michael Carr

Al & Courtney are the proprietors of the Outbound Music website
(www.outboundmusic.com), a great resource for local musicians. They
also host a weekly monday-night open mic night at Wired Java Cafe
(http://www.javamecrazy.com/). On the 27th, we'll crash their party
with a networking event. :) The open mic runs from 7-10 pm, so come on
out for networking & talking with other local musicians and people in
the industry.

Scheduling

A note about scheduling ... last week, a few people asked: "If we're
just doing 1st Tuesdays now, why are we having mixers on these other
Tuesdays?" Good question! The answer is: this week and last week were
the only remaining dates at the Volcano that we had scheduled before we
made the change to once a month. Rather than cancel, the hosts decided
to go ahead anyway. So, after this email, you'll only be getting (on
average) 2 notices each month about the roundtable every month (one for
First Tuesdays at the Volcano, and one for the other events).

If you're interested in hosting an event, check out our guidelines on
the web site (www.musicroundtable.com, click "Get Involved") and then
send us an email.

New Mailing List

As you know if you're getting this message, we're now using a new
mailing list. If you have any problems with it, just let me know.

Thanks!
