===============================

Tomorrow night: Saturday, June 18
Roundtable Excursion @ Side Car Pub
11202 Huffmeister
Houston, Texas 77065
281-807-4040
http://www.sidecarpub.com
Hosted by The Googe and the Buddhacrush

The Buddhacrush (http://www.buddhacrush.com) and The Googe
(http://www.thegooge.com) are both roundtable regulars. You've
probably seen many members of either band at our meetings. Our
"roundtable excursion" takes us to the Side Car Pub to enjoy these two
great bands. I know the Side Car Pub is quite a drive, but it'll be
worth it! The Side Car manages to pull a number of regional acts; it's
a fun place. Mary Lee will host the event since Ian Varley will be on
the road! Feel free to ask her any questions you may have. Come say
hello and support your fellow artists. Playing with Stars will open
the show.

Upcoming events:

----------------
Monday June 27
Roundtable Excursion @ Wired Java & Internet Cafe
9740 Barker Cypress Rd.
Hosted by Al & Courtney Delaney and Michael Carr

Al & Courtney are the proprietors of the Outbound Music website
(www.outboundmusic.com), a great resource for local musicians. They
also host a weekly monday-night open mic night at Wired Java Cafe
(http://www.javamecrazy.com/). On the 27th, we'll crash their party
with a networking event. :) The open mic runs from 7-10 pm, so come on
out for networking & talking with other local musicians and people in
the industry.

----------------
Tuesday July 5

First Tuesday gathering at the Volcano! Bring your friends for lots of
good networking and such.

----------------------------------------------
If you're interested in hosting an event, check out our guidelines on
the web site (www.musicroundtable.com, click "Get Involved") and then
send us an email.

Other announcements:

- For the next 3 weeks, KTRU is presenting free screenings of a Thrill
Jockey DVD called "Looking For A Thrill". The screenings are held at
Mixture Gallery (behind Cafe Brasil, 2604 Dunlavy). I saw the first
one, they're pretty neat - strange little interviews with musicians
talking about their lives, their work, etc. Every Tuesday night at
8:30. Contact Matthew Wettergreen for more info, matt...@ktru.org
/713-825-4613.

- The Starr Project is a unique collaboration where musicians are
randomly paired up with other musicians (and designers, artists,
stylists, etc.) to form a band for a month, at the end of which time
there's a big show & battle of the bands. Great chance to meet new
people and get your creative juices flowing. If you're interested,
Saturday the 18th is the first drawing, and Sat. July 16th is the
second. Contact Bronwyn (starrp...@gmail.com) for more info.
