عام طور پر جہنم کے طور پر ترجمہ کیا جاتا ہے جو دوبارہ اصطلاح کے قرآنی احساس کو صحیح طور پر ظاہر نہیں کرتا ہے۔ قرآن کے مطابق، ارتقاء کے عمل کے مختلف مراحل سے گزرنے کے بعد زندگی انسانی شکل میں ظاہر ہوئی ہے۔ یہ ہے اس دنیا میں زندگی کے ارتقاء کی آخری کڑی ہے۔ لیکن زندگی صرف اس دنیا تک ہی محدود نہیں ہے. یہ موت سے آگے بڑھتی ہے .ایک اعلی زندگی جو ایک ترقی یافتہ شخصیت والا فرد اس مادی دنیا میں اپنی زندگی کے بعد رہنمائی کرنے کے قابل ہے۔ آسمانی زندگی یا جناح کی زندگی. دوسری طرف، اتنی ترقی یافتہ شخصیات کے ارتقا کو ناکام بنانے کا پابند ہے؛ اس طرح کی زندگی کو ناروا زندگی یا جہنم کی زندگی کہا جاتا ہے. جنہ اور جہنم مقامات کے لئے کھڑے نہیں ہوتے ہیں یا مقامات وہ انسانی زندگی کے مختلف حالات کی نشاندہی کرتے ہیں۔ جنھیں استعاراتی انداز میں بیان کیا گیا ہے. یہ بات بھی قابل ذکر ہے کہ یہ حالات پوری طرح سے آخرت کی زندگی سے وابستہ نہیں ہیں یہاں ان کی شروعات یہاں ہے مادہ کی دنیا. قرآنی بنیادوں پر مبنی ایک معاشرتی آرڈر کے نتیجے میں خوشگوار صورتحال پیدا ہوتی ہے زندگی کی ضروریات وافر مقدار میں دستیاب ہوتی ہیں اور انسانی وقار کے مطابق انتہائی مہذب طریقوں سے محفوظ ہوتی ہیں۔ اس سے حقیقی خوشی اور ذہنی سکون ملتا ہے۔ یہ ہے آسمانی زندگی کہا جاتا ہے .دوسری طرف، قرآن کے مخالف اصولوں پر مبنی معاشرہ اضطراب اور عدم اطمینان کا باعث بنتا ہے اور یہ ایک ناروا زندگی ہے (جہنم). جہنم ایک عبرانی مرکب ہے جس کی تشکیل جے آئی اور ہنم سے ملتی ہے۔ "وادی ہنم۔ یہ ایک مشہور وادی تھی جو یروشلم کے جنوب میں واقع تھی جہاں مردوں کو زندہ جلایا جاتا تھا اور اسے مولوچ کے بت کے طور پر پیش کیا جاتا تھا .جہاں اس وجہ سے جہنم اس صورتحال کی نشاندہی کرتی ہے جس میں انسانیت برباد ہوچکی ہے. عربی میں، لفظ جہم اکثر ہوتا ہے اس معنی میں استعمال کیا جاتا ہے. اس کا مطلب ہے- کو روکنا ہے، یہ ایسی حالت کی نشاندہی کرتا ہے جس میں انسانی ارتقاء کو روکا جاتا ہے اور زندگی ترقی کی بجائے جمود کا شکار ہونا شروع کردیتا ہے۔

Jahannam or Jaheem;---Usually translated as hell which again does not properly convey the Quranic sense of the term. According to Quran, life has manifested itself in the human form after having gone through various stages of the processes of evolution. This is the final link in the evolution of life in this world. But life is not limited to this world; it continues beyond death. The higher life that the individual with a developed personality is capable of leading after his life in this material world is called a heavenly life or the life of Jannah. On the other hand, the evolution of a personality not so developed is bound to be thwarted; this kind of life is called an infernal life or the life of Jahannam. Jannah & Jahannam do not stand for places or localities; they denote different conditions of human life, which have been described metaphorically. It is also worth mentioning that these conditions do not relate entirely to life hereafter; they have their beginnings here in this world of matter. A social Order based on Quranic foundations results in a happy situation; the necessities of life are available in abundance & are secured in extremely decent ways befitting human dignity. This brings in real happiness & peace of mind. This is called a heavenly (Jannah) life. On the other hand, a society based upon principles repugnant to Quran brings in anxiety & discontentment & this is an infernal life (Jahannam). Jahannam is a Hebrew compound made up of JI & Hinnum which stands for "the valley of Hinnom . This was a famous valley situated in the south of Jerusalem where men were burnt alive & offered as a sacrifice to the idol Moloch. Jahannam, therefore, denotes a situation in which humanity is ruined. In Arabic, the word Jahim is often used in this sense; it means to prevent --that is, it denotes a condition in which human evolution is prevented & life begins to stagnate instead of progressing.
