The Republicans in Texas are proposing to lighten the punishments for people
who drive drunk.
Their plan is to give first-time DWI's a free pass for their first offense -
without even holding a full trial.

In this plan, the drunk-driver would instead go to mandatory Christian
"Rehab", paid for by taxpayers, and managed by a private, for-profit
corporation owned by senior Republican legislators and judges.
The "Rehab" church is founded by a former Republican who served prison time
for corruption.

A spokesman for the movement said this is necessary because, as things are
now, it would reduce police corruption.
Specifically, he mentioned a practice among some crooked cops that ticket
DWI offenders for lesser crimes.
By charging them with a lesser crime, the cops undermine the current system.

The Republicans hope that, by giving free-passes to Christian drunks, it
will reduce this corrupt practice among LEO's.

Thank you. I'm not sure it's a REPUBLICAN idea (MADD is behind it), but it's
a good idea and we'll gladly take credit for it.

Once you see it in practice, well, heck, you may even start voting the
straight GOP ticket!

Well, it was introduced by Republicans and endorsed by Republicans and
Republicans have been supporting it in their speeches and press releases -
so it's easy to see why you, as a Republican, would not be sure if it was a
Republican idea.

That very well may be the dumbest question ever asked anywhere on the
Internet.
And you don't really think MADD introduces legislation in the Texas House,
do you?

Perhaps, but your obsession with healthcare reform has nothing to do with

Jeez sandra, you should learn to lie more convincingly if you want to
get into the big bux of socialist tool liars.

The measure to censure Mr. Rangel reads as follows:

“H. Res. 1737 would resolve that:

Representative Charles B. Rangel of New York be censured;

Representative Charles B. Rangel forthwith present himself in the well
of the House for the pronouncement of censure;

Representative Charles B. Rangel be censured with the public reading
of this resolution by the Speaker; and

Representative Rangel pay restitution to the appropriate taxing
authorities or the U.S. Treasury for any unpaid estimated taxes
outlined in Exhibit 066 on income received from his property in the
Dominican Republic and provide proof of payment to the Committee.”
