* 1994 CONFERENCE OF TEXAS STATISTICIANS *
* *
**********************************************************************

The Southeast Chapter of the American Statistical Association and
the Department of Statistics at Texas A\&M University will be hosting
the 1994 Conference of Texas Statisticians (COTS). The Conference
will be held on Friday, April 29th, and Saturday, April 30th in the
Memorial Student Center on the Texas A\&M University Campus. This
year's Conference boasts many exciting speakers and an intriguing mix
of both theoretical and applied statistics that should please and
accommodate all those who attend. Registration fees for the
conference are $25.00 for non-students and $10.00 for students.
There will also be a dinner Friday evening. The cost of this meal is
$22.00 for a non-student and $10.00 for a student.

There will be a Graduate Student Session on Saturday afternoon.
This year, a special effort is being made to encourage graduate
student attendance and participation. This effort will include the
awarding of free lodging to ten graduate students. Preference will be
given to those graduate students who will be giving a talk at the
Graduate Student Session of COTS. And, for all graduate students
attending COTS, there will be a complimentary luncheon on Saturday at
noon. For those graduate students who will be attending the luncheon,
please make a reservation no later than Wednesday, April 27.

We have reserved a block of 50 rooms at the Best Western Inn at
Chimney Hill on University Drive in College Station for Friday night.
The room rates will be \$49.95 for a single or double room.
Participants in the Conference planning to use these rooms should
contact the Inn (409) 260--9150 by April 15th (two weeks in advance).
Furthermore, since the weekend of the Conference is also the weekend
of Aggie Ring Dance, an old Aggie tradition, the hotels in town will
be filling up rather quickly. The Inn asked, if it at all possible,
that participants try to make their reservations as early as April 8th
(three weeks in advance).

For more information about the Conference of Texas Statisticians
