JOB DESCRIPTION / DETAILS

Bell & AssociatesPrinciple
Function: CSE(s) are responsible for providing pre and post-sales support
for the client/server product offerings from BMC, Inc. This will include
product usage, maintenance, distribution and
implementation/customization.Responsibilities & Duties:* Insure effective
product presentations and demonstrations for the client/server products.*
Assist with customer implementation and deployment. This includes, but
is not limited to:* Implementation planning* Software installation *
Software customization* Assist with introductory training for operations
staff and other users of the product sets* Understand customer business,
MIS environment and direction to position the BMC Inc. product offering
as an integral part of the customer`s strategic direction.* Participate
in product beta release activities.* Interface with BMC Inc.
marketing/engineering departments to assist in developing new product
features.Minimum Qualifications:* College degree or equivalent
experience* 7+ years pre-sales experience in a software vendor
environment* Thorough knowledge of UNIX shell programming* Proficient in
C++ or REXX a plus* Thorough understanding of:* UNIX architecture (Sun
Solaris & AIX preferable)* Network management principles* Software vendor
environment* NT 4.0 environment* Sound data communication and
device/protocol knowledge* Excellent verbal and written skills - able to
interact effectively with all levels within a customer organization* Able
to travel at least 50%Current Technical Knowledge* UNIX System
Administration* UNIX Shell Programming* Programming experience in C or
REXX* UNIX Architecture and communications understanding* Data Bases
(Sybase preferred) SQL* Network management principles* Data communication
knowledge* Devices and protocols - TCP/IP, 3270,, RS232, etc* X-windows
and X-windows applicationsBackground* Customer support/system engineer*
Working knowledge of complex large systems and networks and some
operations experience with those systems* Project Management experience*
Experience working within large
organizations
