Greetings.

I am pleased to inform you that the Houston Internet community now has access
to
a brand new Efnet Internet Relay Chat server, hosted by Phoenix Data Net.

Connect your Irc client to irc.phoenix.net, port 6667.

If you have questions or comments about the server, please address them to
i...@brad.phoenix.net. Please remember that the server is there for humans
to enjoy. Run your bots elsewhere. ;-)

Sincerely,
Ben Perkins aka eXile

It seems like a waste of money to me. Besides, Neosoft already has
one.

Brad,

From your address, it doesn't look like you're a Phoenix customer
so I'm curious to know why you'd be concerned about the expenditure.
However, as it happens, Phoenix kindly hosts the site, but the
equipment is being donated by the administrator.

As for the "NeoSoft already has one" comment, if you Irc'd with any
regularity I think you'd find that a new and responsive server is always
welcome on an increasingly congested network.

I'm sorry you don't feel this service to the Houston community has
value, but I can assure that others are already enjoying it.
