(I have the 3 for $99 deal in my home)
Todays news says Comcast is uping the speed to 50 mbps for a fee.

Yeah buy you only get that speed for the first 10 Megs of a download,
then it slows to 6 mbps

Here's a tip, Call them. Their much nicer and easier to work with if
you call them. I know everybody says their service is horriable but I
had the 24 Mbps for ~$30.
