I have had some cancelations for this evening’s photo bus tour.

Please email me ASAP at d...@deezunkerphotography.com if interested.

Here is the skinny:

Good Evening Everyone,

This is confirming our tour for Friday evening.

Please reply to this email to confirm that you will be there on Friday.

We will meet at the Beautiful Historic Hotel Icon, at 6:30pm, in the Mezzanine Bar.

Valet parking is included in the cost. You can enter the parking garage from Congress or Travis Street.

If you have not paid, please bring $20 per person to cover the parking, bus, and driver or can pay me via www.venmo.com/Dee-Zunker

I will bring some waters for our bus ride.

Peter Wright, General Manager will be our host at Hotel Icon

https://www.facebook.com/HotelICON/

Mister McKinney, of Mister McKinney's Historic Houston and the Houston History Bus, will be our tour guide.

Please take the time to follow their Facebook pages.

Our evening will start with a brief orientation, a walk around the inside of the Hotel Icon, then we will load the bus at 7pm.

The bus tour will wonder through the historic district then head to the murals on the east end. We will stop at the murals for some fun photos.

Next up we will make our way to the skyline district, and depending on time, stop near the Enron/Chevron/Allen Center 4 area.

For Sunset photos we will head to the Cistern/Sabine Street/Skateboard park.

After sunset, we will head back to the hotel at ~ 9pm.

It is possible, but cannot be guaranteed, that we may get to go to the rooftop penthouse to see the city.

A few quick notes:

  1. Bring your tripods. The bus is a school bus with kid sized sears and an open top. We have kept the numbers small to allow 1 person a seat to manage your gear.
  2. The photos of the interior of Hotel Icon are for personal use only, and not for commercial use. Please handle the images with care when you share them as well. Watermark them, and keep them small when sharing them online.
  3. Photos around Metro are allowed with a couple of restrictions. No flash around trains or buses, and no tripods on the platforms
  4. IF we get to up to the penthouse rooftop, there will be 2 steep flights of stairs. There are still nice views from the 12th floor, however.
  5. When you share your images or posts in social media, please tag and follow Hotel Icon and the Houston History Bus. Mister McKinney our tour guide and Peter Wright the General Manager at the Hotel Icon are interested in the exposure our group can bring for this event.
  6. If you get there early,
    1. Wonder over to the Char Bar in Market Square, and go up to the balcony to grab a shot of the skyline before the new buildings are completed.
    2. The lighting from the atrium inside of the Okra Bar is amazing
    3. The La Carafe is the oldest place in town and has a cool interior
    4. The Little Dipper on Main street is cozy fun inside
    5. For a nice high view of the city, wonder up the bridge on Main Street toward U of Houston
    6. My first date with my husband 28 years ago was at the Brewery Tap on Franklin Street, followed by Power Tools(no longer around), where my husband pretended to like dancing….
