2025 Research Symposium for Teachers STEM Connections: From Algorithms to Ecosystems The 2025 Research Symposium for Teachers invites K–12 teachers, instructional staff, and administrators to engage in an interactive professional development event focused on translating STEM research into classroom-ready lessons. Attendees will hear from guest speakers, explore current Research Experience for Teachers (RET) projects, and join immersive breakout sessions designed to spark innovation in the classroom. Date: July 22, 2025 | 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Location: Rice University Fee: $30 Register Now Breakout Session Highlights Bayou Design Challenge: Build a bayou model and explore ways to reduce sediment transport and protect ecosystems. How Sweet Are You? Dive into machine learning with an inquiry-based activity and ready-to-use classroom lesson (BYOD). What Color Am I? Use plant-based pH indicators to test acidity and alkalinity through a color-changing STEM activity.
