Portland, OR — December 12, 2025 — HomeShare Oregon/HomeShare Online, a nonprofit dedicated to culturally normalizing homesharing, today announced that it will temporarily suspend operations due to an unexpected and significant funding shortfall.
For the past four years, HomeShare Oregon has served the community by connecting individuals through safe, values-aligned homesharing. Despite strong program outcomes and continued demand, the organization has recently faced financial challenges that make continued operations unsustainable at this time.
“This was an incredibly difficult decision,” said Savenia Falquist of HomeShare Oregon. “Our team has worked tirelessly to secure the resources needed to maintain our services. However, the current funding gap prevents us from operating at the level of safety, stability, and integrity that our community deserves. This pause will allow us to reorganize, pursue new funding opportunities, and chart a responsible path forward.”
Subscription Notice:
During this suspension, participants with active HomeShare Online subscriptions may choose to cancel their subscription at any time. Additionally, the HomeShare Online team will proactively review and cancel all active subscriptions over the next week to ensure no charges occur while services are paused.
Looking Ahead:
If HomeShare Oregon receives the funding needed to resume operations, the organization will follow up in the new year with participants and partners to share next steps.
