The Office of Evaluation within FHA oversees all actuarial projections
of loan performance and the associated valuations of the mortgage-
insurance portfolios – single-family forward, single-family reverse
(HECM), multifamily, and health-care facilities. This involves
creative research respecting basic mortgage-performance projections,
how policy changes might affect loan performance, business-trending
analysis, and risk management. The incumbent would provide leadership
in developing research and research agendas involving loan performance
modeling and portfolio valuation and risk exposure. The Office of
Evaluation is located in the larger Office of Risk Management and
Regulatory Affairs, where the Deputy Assistant Secretary is also the
Chief Risk Officer for FHA.
