CAWST's Knowledge and Research Coordinator, Laura MacDonald, will host a discussion with Kaira Wagoner, Filter Project Coordinator at Potters for Peace, and Justine Rayner, graduate student at Tufts University.
Kaira Wagoner has been Filter Project Coordinator Potters for Peace since 2008. She has served a consultant for factory setup and production troubleshooting since 2006, working mostly
in Eastern Africa.
She will present on the challenges and successes of production, plans for innovation moving forward and ongoing research to expand the ceramic pot filter’s capacities.
Justine Rayner is a graduate student with a research focus on ceramic pot water filters for drinking water treatment in developing countries. She is a member of the Ceramics Manufacturing Working Group and the
Potters for Peace / Potters Without Borders Filter Committee. She will discuss the need for and development of a scheme for evaluating quality at ceramic pot filter factories.
Following these short presentations, Kaira and Justine will answer questions submitted by participants prior to the webinar and then will spend the remaining time answering questions that have been submitted by participants during the webinar.
