So my new project is to try and read data from my Owl + USB
Electricity Monitor. Has anyone tried to do this sort of thing yet?

Hi,

I am not a big fan of the older OWL. It seems the newer ones have more functionality.

I am not sure what the OWL costs, but you can build your own monitor for under R500.

Myself and Schalk have done this. We are both logging our power use, just like the OWL but using the arduino platform, and the satisfaction that we did it ourselves

Here is a very tragic video of mine - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_7BVX8vwN0

We will soon be organising an energy logger build over at H4H-HQ - maybe your contact will be interested?

I knew you guys are playing with this sort of thing with the arduino,
so I thought maybe you've seen this.

yeah, I'll invite him
(I don't know him at all, just saw his message on the ubuntu-za list,
and wondered if any of you tried it)
