Hello, everyone,

I started this thread so that everyone can introduce themselves to the group, and we can get to know one another!

My name is Molly, and I'm the Head Coordinator for #HourofCode at South Seattle College. I'm involved in the Women in STEM Club, which is an equal-opportunity support group for students in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at South Seattle College.

I am a Computer Science major at South, and am planning on transferring to UW Bothell in the Fall of 2016. Before I came to South, I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Pacific Lutheran University. I worked as web designer/developer in the Seattle for 6 years before I decided to come back to school to get a degree in Computer Science. I am passionate about gender and ethnic diversity in tech, and creating safe spaces for developers from all walks of life to get together and code. I love programming and the potential it holds to make a difference in the world!

In my (spare) free time, I enjoy bike riding, rock climbing (bouldering), reading, playing video games, and spending time with my husband and two cats.

I look forward to getting to know you all better, and work side-by-side on the #HourofCode group project!

Hello everybody,

My names Stuart and I'm a Junior Coordinator for #HourofCode @ South Seattle College.  While taking CSC 110 last quarter (Python) I was introduced to HourofCode and became fascinated that we would have the chance to work on a project that will be useful to our fellow students.  Working on exercises out of the book and self learning at home was kind of dry, but to be working on a real world project pumps me up.

Helping one another and the community, resume material, and social networking (we could end up getting each other jobs one day!!) are reasons why I joined the team.  Out of curiosity, I would like to know your goals or interests in HourofCode.  Programming can be difficult and downright frustrating when done alone so I hope working as a team can alleviate some of those problems.

I will be finished at South CC at the end of spring, then I will apply to UW Seattle, Bothell, SPU & SU.  My intended major is in Informatics with a focus on Information Architecture.  You can often find me on campus in the library, MAST & MALL centers

When I'm not studying I like to read, cook, exercise, play video games, have drinks with friends.  Once it warms up a bit I'll be riding my bike to school

I will see everyone at #HourofCode where we can work together and get to know each other better, have a good weekend!

Hello all,

My name is Logan I am actually a junior in highschool, but I do full time classes here at South Seattle through the running start program. One of my classes right now is CSC110 so I am learning Python along with Ruby and all the other stuff at hour of  code. I also attended a good amount of hour of code fall quarter so I am familiar with Ruby through codecademy and it's nice to keep practicing, and get a better understanding of the language and its many uses. My plan at South is to finish up getting my AA degree next year in June, and from there applying to the UW for either computer science or robotics. In my free time I play a lot of Call of Duty, I play soccer, do some muay thai kickboxing, and like hanging out with my friends. It'll be cool to start the front end back end projects, and help out the school, I hope we all have an awesome quarter!

Hello, こんいちは, 안녕하세요, hej, hola, or whatever other greeting you prefer...

My name is Makenzie, as may be apparent by what you see here. I have been a student at South for a while, and I am currently just chipping away at a basic transfer degree while I still think a bit about my options to further my later education. I do intend on majoring in Computer Science when I upgrade to a four year degree, but I also want to add in skills in other areas to be well rounded for a career in participating in the creation of video games. I still don't have the clearest direction, so I am still a bit vague when I share my goals with others.

In the free time I should be making myself, I tend to sleep more than I would like. The interests I would like to partake in when awake include video games, listening (and singing along) to music, watching (usually Asian) dramas, practicing one of the languages I am interested in learning (alone... T_T), and getting out of my apartment to hang out with friends. I need to do more of the last one most since I am otherwise just potato-ing around too much and suffer further atrophy upon my overall stamina. This being said, I am often in the game room when I am at school and not in class should anyone find an unexpected impulse to track me down.

That is all for now, I suppose.
