Hi Everyone,
Last year, in partnership with Working with Men, Hounslow Council, Hounslow Homes and Brentford Football in the community, we planted 300 trees in Hounslow as part of the Big Tree plant with community groups, park friends, residents associations and at Hounslow Barracks taking part.
We are planning to do even more this Autumn and looking for groups we can work with to start planning. The trees need to be in public areas such as streets, estates or parks and should be native species. Fruit trees aren’t allowed under the scheme. We are aiming to focus on the middle and East of the Borough around Feltham and Hounslow. We have funding for managing the planting and for trees, but any matched funding that could be provided would help us plant more mature, bigger tree specimens.
We are hoping to team up with Working with Men again this year and to do a big planting day on International Men’s Day on 19th November.
My colleague, Matt Hartgrove, copied in is coordinating this year’s project. Please drop us an email if you would be interested in taking part or pass this on to any groups that you know of who may be.
