OLDER - SMALLER (42lb) - FRIENDLY DOG IN NEED OF PLACEMENT DUE TO MEDICAL **Gaston County ACE - North Carolina**

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Joleneee

Meet the sweetest girl ever

Gaston County Animal Care & Enforcement

1491 Business Park Ct. Gastonia, NC 28052

Rescue Inquiries: Placemen...@gcps.org / call (704) 922-2194 / text (704) 914-5573

This girl comes to us as a stray and it’s probably a good thing she’s here with us now and getting some much needed medical attention. She comes to us in very poor condition

Jolene’s body shows us what kind of life she has lived, wearing a thick and heavy collar caked in mud. She appears to have had previous litters, she sports awfully short cropped ears, and she is heartworm positive & symptomatic Despite all of this Jolene seems beyond grateful just to have a bed of her own We are looking for rescue placement for Miss Jolene where she can receive all of the necessary care she needs in order to feel better.

▪️INFO: Animal ID#: 60560181, 6 year old Terrier mix, 42lbs, unaltered female, HWP *started doxycycline.*

Dog Assessment: Gate Greet: Appropriate. Playgroup Session Notes: Once in play yard allowed tester to greet, appropriate, more interested in people, aloof after initial interaction with dog. Play Style: Gentle/dainty.

Medical Summary:

(For full report please email Placemen...@gcps.org

Behavior Notes: Very sweet and very friendly! Problem List: Heartworm Positive, Thin, Distended abdomen, Pale pink MM, Harsh lung sounds, Mild dental tartar, Dull, thin, dry coat, Coughing, Intestinal parasites.

Follow Up/Additional Comments: Even with her enlarged heart and parasite burden P is surprisingly active and appears stable. However, she is not a good surgical candidate at this time due to her anemia, parasite burden, and enlarged heart.
