URGENT: We are currently over capacity, and  we are losing 18 kennels due to renovations. We took in 93 animals just last week and, as an open-admission shelter, we cannot stop the intake of stray animals. Note: Honey and her 9 puppies came into the shelter as strays. Honey is 3 years old and very sweet, but she was caught in a trap and is very scared right now. Despite being frightened, she has a gentle temperament. She is currently on medication for mastitis. The puppies are approximately 4 weeks old and will need appropriate neonatal/puppy care.

Note: Prince and Chandler are a bonded pair who came in together with Tina. Both are very friendly and calm but nervous during testing. Prince walks perfect on a leash, and Chandler is wary of the leash but will follow Prince anywhere. They are both dog friendly.

He is a happy, social boy who enjoys attention and interaction. X-rays, medical history, and vet notes can be provided upon request. Heartworm negative.

Lexington County Services in Lexington, South Carolina is in need of assistance placing these dogs with a rescue! These are available to a 501c3 rescue only. We do exhaust every resource possible but unfortunately due to overcrowding dogs do become at risk of being euthanized. *WHILE HERE* in our care we can provide additional photos, video, vaccines, heartworm tests, health certificates, RABIES VACCINES or any behavioral assessments that may be needed. Please make sure all communication is done via email to so that we can keep track of all communications.  We do have a phone used for rescue to call during an emergency or when we are away from the office such as transporting. The phone number is 803-465-5726. We respond to rescue inquiries Monday through Friday 8am-5pm (EST) and it is checked regularly. We offer free transportation Monday through Friday during business hours locally which would be the area of Lexington County, City of Columbia, or Richland County. Our staff is very passionate about getting all of these wonderful dogs to safety and will help in any way possible!  

When inquiring about a dog, an animal ID number is required and not just their name. Include a note at the end of every email stating what rescue you are with.
