Medical:
Information for potential adopters: This sweet boy arrived to the shelter with a fracture to the left side of his lower jaw. He is eating well. In severe cases jaw fractures may need surgical intervention, but at this time this sweet boy is eating and acclimating well. He has been continued on medications to keep him comfortable. We suspect the jaw will heal with time, but should still be monitored. We recommend strictly wet food only for 2 weeks and a slow transition back to dry food after that. We do not have dental x-rays here. We recommend adopters following-up with their private veterinarian for further evaluation of the jaw and teeth associated with the fracture. Extractions or other treatments may be indicated.
Meet Rockie, a goofy and affectionate boy who is always excited to make new friends! Eager to get out and explore, he loves treats, knows how to sit, and enjoys carrying around plush squeaky toys before deciding that spending time with his people is even more fun. Curious and gentle, Rockie likes wandering around the yard, soaking up attention, and showing off his playful side, with his ears having a personality of their own. His adorable little pig noises during playtime are guaranteed to make you smile!
