Notes/What We Know: This sweet, timid girl is searching for her safe person. Scared and unsure of her surroundings, she wants so badly to trust but is still learning that she's safe. When I sat with her and spoke gently, she slowly crawled into my lap, seeking comfort and reassurance. It was a small moment that spoke volumes about the loving soul hiding behind her fear. She walks well on a leash and is interested in treats, but she's still too nervous to enjoy them right now. What she wants most isn't food—it's security, kindness, and someone she can trust. With patience and love, this mellow girl is sure to blossom into a devoted companion. All she needs is someone willing to give her a chance. 

 

URGENT: We are currently over capacity, and  we are losing 18 kennels due to renovations. As an open-admission shelter, we cannot stop the intake of stray animals. All animals who have passed their hold times are at immediate risk once their hold time is up. Firm commitments with pickup dates are urgently needed to prevent euthanasia 

 

Lexington County Services in Lexington, South Carolina is in need of assistance placing these dogs with a rescue! These are available to a 501c3 rescue only.  We do exhaust every resource possible but unfortunately due to overcrowding dogs do become at risk of being euthanized. We can provide additional photos, video, vaccines, heartworm tests, health certificates, RABIES VACCINES or any behavioral assessments that may be needed

The phone number is 803-465-5726. We respond to rescue inquiries Monday through Friday 8am-5pm(EST) and it is checked regularly. We offer free transportation Monday through Friday during business hours locally which would be the area of Lexington County, City of Columbia, or Richland County. Our staff is very passionate about getting all of these wonderful dogs to safety and will help in any way possible!

 

When inquiring about a dog, an animal ID number is required and not just their name. 

Include a note at the end of every email stating what rescue you are with.
