Installation of Hounder in Windows XP

Hi,

How do we install Hounder in windows XP ? Any good tutorial for
getting started with Hounder ?

Hi Prem,

Hounder doesn't run on Windows, as it uses a few filesystem features only available in Unix based OSs.

Hi Jagdish,

Hounder was designed to work under Linux, but it might be possible, with some work, to run it under Windows with cygwin. If you want to try, I´ll be happy to help you with it.

I get the following error during installation process... irrespective
whether I use cmd or graphic installer.

progress
configuring searcher
\var\local\hounder\searcher\conf\common.properties (The system cannot
find the path specified)

Environment: Windows Vista home premium, jdk1.6.0_12 , Cygwin 1.5+

Jagdish, does the /var/local path exist in your setup? If not, you should create it.
