Hey Jeanne! Could you do me a huge favor and forward this to the rest of your team? I don't have many of their email addresses. It's actually a really cool project Ben has been working on and I want to help out as much as I can. Thanks!
A great friend of mine named Ben Funk, whom many of you may know, recently graduated from Stanford and he's passionate about food, cooking, engineering, and living a healthy lifestyle. He's always dreamed up ways to combine all his interests into concepts that everyone can enjoy. He recently launched a Kickstarter campaign
for a new venture he is pursuing and he reached out to me for help.
I'm trying to pull in as many donations as I can to help fund his new graphical illustrated cookbook. He's redesigned the classic text recipe by including illustrations, arrows, and actions. For many people the text format is difficult to comprehend, the big picture is missing and using recipes can be intimidating for first time cooks. He's proposed a new illustrated form that will inspire young and seasoned chefs to move back into the kitchen - promote a smarter and healthier lifestyle and cook for themselves.
The cookbook will be a collaboration between Ben, a graphic designer friend of his, and all of the donors. Here is an example of the graphic recipe format they want to use in this new cookbook!
He is really looking for this idea to spread and if you think it's as awesome as I do, please donate to his project on the Kickstarter page. I know most of us college folk don't have much money to spare, but any possible donation will help (I put in $20). And what would be even more awesome is if you'd show your friends, family, and colleagues. Exposure to a large, widespread group of people would bring him much closer to seeing his cookbook become a reality.
Let me know if there are any questions you have and I can pass them along to Ben - most of the common questions are answered in the Kickstarter text below his video.
From Ben and I - Thanks so much,
Al
