Job Description –
The RoleThe position needs expertise in Jenkins to automate and optimizes the software delivery process through CI/CD pipelines. This role involves configuring Jenkins for builds, tests, and deployments, and integrating tools like Docker and Kubernetes to improve efficiency and system performance. The engineer collaborates with development and operations teams to ensure smooth, reliable, and secure software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
● Design, implement, and manage Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines to automate the software build, test, and deployment processes.
● Integrate Jenkins with various development tools and third-party services for continuous integration and delivery.
● Work with development teams to optimize the build and deployment processes and ensure smooth integration with application stacks.
● Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and scaling using infrastructure-as-code tools.
● Monitor and maintain Jenkins server health, performance, and security.
● Implement and optimize automation scripts for deployment and rollback using tools like Jenkins, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
● Manage containerized applications with Docker and orchestrate them using Kubernetes or other container management platforms.
● Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure uptime and performance of production environments.
● Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to build failures, deployment issues, or pipeline inefficiencies.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, testing, QA, and operations) to improve the automation and CI/CD workflows.
● Ensure compliance with best practices and security guidelines in CI/CD processes.
● Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to automate repetitive tasks, reduce errors, and improve productivity.
Candidate Profile
Skilled DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software development and operations processes and the ability to integrate Jenkins with various tools to streamline and optimize deployment workflows. They should be comfortable working with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes. Strong troubleshooting, scripting, and
automation skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with development and operations teams.
Essential Skills and Experience
● At least 6 to 8 years with proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with expertise in Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline creation, management, and optimization.
● Hands-on experience with Jenkins plugins and integrations (e.g., Git, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes).
● Strong knowledge of version control systems like Git and code repository management tools.
● Experience working with containerization technologies, particularly Docker.
● Familiarity with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
● Strong scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, or Groovy for automating deployment and system management tasks.
● Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
● Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
● Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and managing cloud-based infrastructure.
● Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
● Good understanding of software development life cycle and agile methodologies.
● Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams to support development, testing, and operations.
Desirable Skills and Experience
● Familiarity with other CI/CD tools (e.g., CircleCI, GitLab CI, Travis CI).
● Experience with microservices architecture and managing related deployments.
● Knowledge of cloud-native applications and deployment strategies.
