Summary: Responsibilities will require knowledge of U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Wassenaar Arrangement Dual-Use List, and harmonized tariff schedules.
What you will be doing:
- Developing and improving internal processes on classifying products (both hardware and software).
- Assigning export control classification numbers (ECCNs) to software, technology, integrated circuits, electronic assemblies, and computer systems primarily described in Categories 3, 4, and 5 (Parts 1 and 2).
- Assigning tariff classifications (HTS and schedule B) to items primarily described in Chapter 84, 85, and 90.
- Support global shipping transactions and dispositions.
- Working with cross-functional teams to improve work efficiency related to classifications.
What we need to see:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering or computer science.
- 5+ years of experience in export classification in the high-tech industry.
- Expertise in product classification (HS-Code / ECCN).
- Understanding of U.S. EAR and other export control regulation jurisdictions.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and SAP.
