Role: Cloud Computing Consultant / Azure Cloud Engineer
Location: Tallahassee, FL 32308 (Onsite 5 days )
Duration Long Term
Looking for local candidates or those who can relocate to Tallahassee, FL, for five days on-site per week.
Description of Major Duties & Deliverables
FDLE requires the services to work to achieve the goals and objectives to implement the State of Florida’s “Cloud-First Policy”. The selected vendor is expected to work with our staff in research, solution architecture design, delivery, and support. We wish to take a consultative approach in research and assessing existing and emerging applications that may be candidates for the cloud.
FDLE is using Microsoft Azure and 365 cloud computing services.
Vendor responsibilities include:
• Assist in the development of an agency strategy and technical road-maps for cloud service implementations.
• Plan and deploy subscriptions, roles, resources, and services in cloud service platforms.
• Monitor applications, resources, and services in FDLE’s cloud environments.
• Assist FDLE in identifying and addressing security issues and requirements associated with cloud services.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting services for FDLE cloud infrastructure.
• Evaluate FDLE’s existing computing environments and workloads that are candidates for migration to the cloud, making note of potential gaps or risks.
• Conduct research and lead technical discussions on cloud computing, work collaboratively with FDLE members, and communicate effectively with FDLE management.
• Serve as a Cloud Computing Subject Matter Expert and educate FDLE staff on cloud technologies.
• Perform analysis of and make recommendations regarding tools to implement and manage cloud services.
• Perform other assignments related to cloud services as directed by the Chief Information Officer and/or FDLE supervisor.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Minimum of 4 years of IT work experience in cloud computing.
• Knowledge at an expert level implementing Internet/Intranet/Extranet services and supporting services and systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with business and IT staff to define requirements and recommend cloud computing solutions.
• Ability to prepare professional documentation associated with research, design decisions, estimating assumptions, performance metrics, and security requirements.
