Location: Alpharetta, GA – Onsite (Hybrid 3 Days a Week)
We are seeking a GCP Cloud Security Engineer to join a dynamic team in Alpharetta, GA. This is a hybrid onsite role, requiring three days a week in the office. If you're an expert in Google Cloud security controls, infrastructure automation,
and cloud compliance, this is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud security projects.
You will:

Develop, test, and deploy GCP Security Controls across the firm’s cloud tenants using third-party SaaS solutions

Evaluate cloud security requirements and assess how these can be implemented into detective cloud controls
-
Collaborate with vendors and internal squads to develop, deploy, and test cloud security services
-
Generate compliance reports showcasing cloud infrastructure drift management status
-
Work with resource owners to remediate configuration drifts
-
Define priorities and coordinate with peer teams to lead continuous improvements in security tools and processes
-
Research and implement emerging technologies to strengthen security capabilities
-
Integrate, configure, document, and deploy compliant infrastructure and supporting services in the cloud
-
Troubleshoot issues, analyze root causes, and resolve bugs in managed security solutions
-
Work closely with Risk Management, Security Architecture, and Incident Response teams to ensure effective control deployment
-
Operate within a globally distributed team to deliver robust cloud-centric solutions
You have (Must-Have Skills):
-
Strong knowledge of GCP infrastructure and services
-
Clear understanding of the Shared Responsibility Model and cloud-specific security risks
-
Experience with the security assurance lifecycle (especially detect & respond controls)
-
Familiarity with native cloud provider security tools and capabilities
-
Understanding of DevOps workflows and Secure SDLC
-
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
-
Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
-
Experience developing technical architecture documentation
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Familiarity with IT Service Management and the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences
You might also have (Nice-to-Have Skills):

Experience with CSPM and 3rd party SaaS security solutions

Knowledge of OPA/REGO

Understanding of Agile methodologies
-
Familiarity with logging and data pipeline architectures in the cloud

Knowledge of security and risk control frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001/2, COBIT 5, ITIL)

Previous experience in the financial industry

Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP)

Security certifications (CISSP, GIAC, OSCP, etc.)

Experience with automated configuration and patch management tools
-
Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins

Familiarity with Azure/AWS/GCP security tools such as SCC, VPC SC, Azure Policy, AWS Config, IAM Permission Boundaries
