Java Lead Developer (14+ Years)

Location: Onsite – Reston, VA / Philadelphia, PA
Interview Mode: Face-to-Face (F2F)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Java Lead Developer to lead development efforts for enterprise-scale applications. This is an onsite position in Reston, VA or Philadelphia, PA, requiring candidates to attend in-person interviews (F2F). The ideal candidate will have 14+ years of experience in Java technologies, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native application development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of Java developers through the full software development lifecycle.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Architect and implement Microservices-based solutions with strong attention to performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, business analysts, QA, and DevOps.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor team members, and enforce coding best practices.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with high quality and timely delivery.
• Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting complex issues and performance tuning.
• Ensure adherence to Agile practices, development standards, and project timelines.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 14+ years of strong experience in Java/J2EE application development.
• Expertise in Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture.
• Solid experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns.
• Experience in relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a strong plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization tools is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working with  telecom/media industry.
• Experience with messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React, Angular) is a bonus.
